Flightseeing (THE WAY TO SEE MORE OF ALASKA)

There is a wide variety of flightseeing services to choose from while you are in the Anchorage area. Merrill Field and Lake Hood are your departure points from Anchorage. Prices include hotel transfers. A 3 person minimum is usually required, however, singles and doubles may be paired up to make a flight. All flights are weather dependent. Float planes or planes on wheels are available.

Mt. McKinley

Fly up the Matanuska Valley at the 700-2,000 foot level and look for moose, bear, and sheep as you fly toward the Kahiltna Glacier and Mt. McKinley, North America's tallest peak. This is our most popular excursion. 3 hours flying time priced at $249 per seat.

Columbia Glacier

This is an area with exceptional scenery near Anchorage. It is possible to see over 30 glaciers on your 2 1/2 to 3 hour excursion. You'll have excellent opportunities to see Dall Sheep, moose, bear and seals basking on the icebergs in Prince William Sound. Priced at $249 per seat

Eagle Glacier

View Alaska's largest city, nearby glaciers, wildlife and mountains. 55 minutes of flight time at $85 per seat

Knik Glacier

View the Chugach Mountains, glistening icefields, wildlife, and a chance for some once in a lifetime photographs. 1 hour flying on wheels is priced at $80 per seat. Float planes are priced at $199 per seat with 1 1/2 hours of flying time and a chance to land next to a glacier.

Prince William Sound

Enjoy a panoramic view of Anchorage, Eagle River Glacier, Chugach Mountains and Knik Glacier. On your return flight fly along the shores of Lake George, Prince William Sound, and Turnagain Arm. Mountain goats, Dall Sheep, Beluga Whales, bear, and moose are frequently seen. 1 1/2 hours of flying priced at $180 per seat.

Kenai Fjords & Harding Icefield

Fly southeast over Anchorage and following Turnagain Pass over the historic city of Seward. View the Harding Icefield, one of the largest in the world, and the dazzling Kenai Fjords. Pass over the Kenai Moose range, Swanson River oil fields, Cook Inlet, and the Alaska Range on your return flight. 3 hours flying time priced at $249 per seat.

Wilderness Lodge Visit
People visiting Alaska often wonder what living in the "bush country" is like.  On this tour, we spend two hours with a pilot and floatplane touring the country and visiting a remote wilderness lodge.  Flying West from Lake Hood, we immediately cross over the milky waters of Cook Inlet and fly toward the remote parts of the Susitna Valley.   This valley has been formed over thousands of years by the silty, glacial fed rivers that drain the entire south face of the Alaska Range.  Keep your eyes open for moose and maybe even a brown bear as we fly over salmon spawning streams and alder filled valleys and ravines.  Behind the mountain called "Sleeping Lady," we will land at a fly-in lodge where we will dock and let our hosts walk us through their facility.  After refreshments and a familiarization tour, we will load back into the aircraft and head back toward civilization.  2 hours flying time priced at $199 per seat.

Alpine Glacier Safari

This tour is a great option for exploring a lot of Alaskan wilderness on limited time.  Surrounding Anchorage, in every direction is the world's largest concentration of Alpine Glaciers.   The Chugach Range, Alaska Range, and the Kenai Mountains provide the backdrop for this exciting tour.  Knik Glacier, Colony Glacier, Triumvirate and Capps Glaciers, Spencer Glacier and the Twenty-mile Glacier Valley are some of the places we tour as we choose the one that has the best scenic viewing and photographic opportunities.   Active glaciers, volcanoes, blockade lakes, and mountains as far as the eye can see are the geological features; in addition, we tour the foothills and surrounding summits and vistas, often spotting goats, sheep, moose, and even an occasional black bear.   As we fly over the Turnagain, or Knik Arm of Cook Inlet, and the wild braided river systems that have carved out this valley over thousands of years, we will observe massive expanses of unspoiled landscape dotted by hundreds of small lakes and ponds.  As we cross over glacial stained rivers and the milky waters of Cook Inlet, Lake Hood shimmers in the sunlight and as the floatplane adventure ends, we arrive back in civilization. 1.5 hours flying time priced at $199 per seat.
