A major misconception for first time motorhome users is that a generator is necessary to be fully self contained. As indicated above, this is not true. Overhead air conditioning and microwaves do require 110 volts, which can only be supplied by a generator or an electrical hook up at a campsite. However, air conditioning is not needed in the summer in Alaska. |
It is important to note that without a generator, plug in appliances such as curling
irons, electric shavers, and lap top computers require the use of plug in power at a
campsite, and we recommend bringing items which do not require power to operate.
Also on board: For 2000 we will be including, at no additional charge, full
coverage insurance (see our policies section for parameters), campware (includes
all pots and pans, utensils, and cookware) and linen (includes towels, washcloths,
sheets, blankets, and pillows)
No smoking or pets are allowed, and all motorhomes will be 1997 or newer.
So, what will you need to bring?: Only your clothes, and you'll need to make a
quick stop at a grocery store. Most everything else is already waiting for you!
